Mr. Kercher has been widely recognized for his unique ability to prosecute complex and large system patent applications across a wide range of industries, including computer software and hardware, electronics, electromechanical systems, mechanical engineering, and chemical arts.
Mr. Kercher is respected for his advocacy in IP matters before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including oral arguments and successfully reversing patent examiner rejections through the appeals process. He also has extensive experience in preparing and negotiating a variety of technology agreements, such as licensing, joint development agreements, and government contracts, with a focus on IP provisions.
Mr. Kercher’s industry focus is in identity and authentication, robotics, fintech, blockchain, medical devices, biotechnology, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, automotive, entertainment, energy, and chemicals.
Mr. Hercher’s clients include national and international entities, including numerous Fortune 200 companies and has led to his recognition of his intelletual property leadership in China, Germany, Japan, England, and Malaysia. He speaks and teaches widely across the United States, wherer he is recognized as an innovator in the intellectual property space.
He is also a partner of the Practus Law Firm, with a practice that spans all areas of intellectual property (IP) law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, government contracts, due diligence, and portfolio management.
Mr. Kercher is the Past Chair of the High Technology Sector of the Licensing Executives Society of USA/Canada.
